It's here!! Our Wedding page is up and running with beautiful pictures of our Bride and Groom from this summer, Crystal and Phillip. They were the perfect couple and we had so much fun. They were here for a week in advance, brought their horses and had all of their wedding activities with us.

Winter Getaways

Here we go, the first real snow storm of the season! So pretty and really not that bad, although I hear more to come tonight but still don't think it will be really severe. Take a look and remember that our Hot Tub is open year round and personally I just love it in the snow! Try it out or spend an evening watching movies in the movie theater room!!

Boy have I been negligent in doing my blogs and Twitter! Holidays were fabulous @ Bluegrass Country Estate. We had several return guests, now family, and many new guests that helped us enjoy the holidays. Today, January 2nd, it's snowing....first snow of the season and the horses are loving it! Lots of activities coming up in La Grange, check it out and watch for our new Wedding tab which should be finished in the next couple of days. We are now doing Weddings here!!

Oaks behind us and Derby Tomorrow!

Another great group of people staying here for Oaks and Derby. Barbeque and Cocktail party was a hit last night! The weather held up this morning and 5 went horseback riding, absolutely gorgeous day for everyone. All looking forward to Derby tomorrow and French Toast Crostini, Bacon and Fresh Fruit to start them out right!! I can't believe people are still calling for rooms, even today, I feel so bad not being able to even refer them to available Inns or hotels. We were full by August last year and immediately filled a cancellation late April.

We are so excited to be honored again in one of Kentucky's publications. This month, February 2011, in Kentucky Monthly Magazine, Bluegrass Country Estate Bed and Breakfast was chosen from all of the Bed and Breakfasts in the Louisville area to be the Region's selection for "Cozy Winter Retreats". The author, Deborah Kohl-Kremer, stayed with us last year during a book signing of her book "An Explorer's Guide to Kentucky". She enjoyed the stay so much that she continues to recommend us, feature us in articles and books as a fabulous place to stay.

Thanks, Debbie and come back again soon. For those of you who have stayed with us, we miss you, come back too! Bluegrass Country Estate Update

Our guests had some fun today. Laying out by the pool, then here comes an incredible storm -- hail the size of quarters and lots of wind. They all came in, played some pool and got ready for dinner. Both couples are local, more and more guests are coming from local areas, and just wanted a day and night of relaxation. They are off to Westport General Store for dinner and then back for a movie and popcorn in the theatre room. Great couples!

We were one of the most popular local businesses on Google between December 1 and Febuary 28th. Thanks to everyone who has supported us! It's been a great year for us and we have met lots of new folks, seen many of our regulars and look forward to more of the same.

As probably everyone knows, Kentucky is considered one of the major equestrian centers of the United States and now the World (with the FEI Equestrian Games coming to Kentucky and it's first time in the United States). We have guests coming to stay with us from all around the world so Bluegrass Country Estate will be truly International! In addition to all of the horse events here; Kentucky Oaks and Derby, Rolex, FEI Games 2010 and Breeders Cup 2010, this area of the country is an equestrian's dream. Particularly L'Esprit (where Bluegrass Country Estate is located) where we have 5,000 acres of beautiful horse farms and available acreage and 25 miles of Private riding trails along Harrods Creek. You couldn't live in a more beautiful place, thus the reason we moved here. I just joined Pollard Realty and will be focusing on Equestrian and Horse Farm properties. If you are an Equestrian you must see this area and these incredible trails we have. Come visit with your horses and check it out!!!

Kentucky Derby - A Little History

Did you know that races started in Kentucky as early as 1783 in downtown Louisville? Kentucky Derby tradition started on May 17, 1875 when the track officially opened. Our guests, of course, have not been attending this event that long but joined us when we first opened the Bluegrass Country Estate Bed and Breakfast in 2008. History of the Derby and Churchill Downs is uniquely depicted at the Kentucky Derby Museum. Make sure you visit while at the Derby.

There is something about Derby that is like no other event and we make sure that the celebration is complete with a stay on a beautiful horse estate! We would love to have you stay with us.
